Fabricator

Purpose of Position: Fabricate commercial windows, curtain wall, storefront, doors including hardware and composite panels.
Essential Duties:
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer's instructions.
- Utilize oral and written instructions to determine size, shape, color, and type of material to use.
- Cut, fit and assemble material in accordance with manufacture's specifications.
- Operate forklift and side loader to move material from storage to production area. Unload material from trucks and tractor trailers by means of forklift, side loader and manual labor.
- Fabricate various composite panels from flat stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of vocational training preferred in shop/construction/building trade.
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, or construction trades is preferred.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and understand, instructions, safety rules, and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate information one-on-one and in small group situations to supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to understand and follow safety rules, OSHA regulations and strive to promote a safe work environment.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and use measuring devices such as: rulers, tape measures, and micrometers.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Physical Demands
- Ability to push, pull and lift 100lbs
- Ability to kneel, crouch and stoop
- Ability to reach above and below shoulders
- Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull
- Ability to climb a ladder and work above ground
- Ability to endure uncomfortable weather conditions year round
